FLUSHING DIET SUPPLEMENTATION WITH DEXTROSE: ENHANCING REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE IN SOWS
Descrição
The objectives are evaluating the effects of fructose supplementation in the gilt flushing diet on early reproductive performance, considering ovarian response, early embryonic survival, and metabolic and hormonal parameters up to 35 days of gestation. Besides that, to characterize the metabolic response of gilts subjected to the diets (control: 12,800 kcal/day; fructose: 13,340 kcal/day) by assessing glycemic, insulin, lipid, and energy profiles at different experimental time points (pre-flushing, during flushing, and at the end of the experimental period); To evaluate ovarian response after flushing by measuring ovarian weight, counting corpora lutea, and determining ovulation rate in inseminated females; To determine early embryonic survival at 35 days of gestation by quantifying the number of viable embryos relative to the number of corpora lutea; To analyze the reproductive hormonal profile (LH, FSH, estradiol, progesterone, AMH, and IGF-1) in response to fructose supplementation, investigating its association with follicular dynamics and embryonic survival; To establish correlations between actual fructose intake and reproductive and metabolic outcomes using regression models to assess potential dose–response relationships; To compare the two experimental groups (control vs. fructose) using appropriate statistical analyses (ANOVA, mixed models, and GLM) to validate the effect of fructose flushing on the reproductive efficiency of gilts.
