Systemic assessment of coffee agroforestry systems across a complexity gradient

2.1. General objective To understand how the complexity of Agroforestry Systems (AFS) relates to their sustainability and resilience, using ethnoindicators co-created by the scientific-technical community and family farmers in the Zona da Mata Mineira region as an evaluation and monitoring tool. 2.2. Specific Objectives (i) To evaluate how visual indicators relate to scientific indicators. (ii) To identify which indicators (visual or scientific) are most sensitive to changes in agroecosystem complexity. (iii) To explore how management influences the complexity and, consequently, the resilience and sustainability of agroecosystems.
